The 1996-97 Trips
The 1996-97 trip lineup was announced on April 14th at the conclusion of the annual
Texas Ski Council Bid Meeting, and it's a GREAT lineup!
The Planned Trips are:
- Fall Roundup - KEYSTONE, Colorado:
Dates: Nov. 27 - Dec. 1 1996.

Trip Leader: David DeWall, H: 492-2165, B: 225-7236 A little about this trip: Best
bargain of the ski year by far! Four full days skiing - plus night skiing. We leave for
Colorado Springs Airport Tuesday at 2:25 pm, fly non-stop (BOTH ways) and return early
Sunday at 1:55 pm - Time to get the kids AND you rested for Monday!
Your price includes an hors d'oeuvre reception Wednesday, a mountain picnic Thursday,
and Saturday night dinner. Keystone has snowboarding now, plus snowmobiling, ice skating,
plenty of new "hourglass" skis, and a huge factory outlet mall in nearby Dillon.
Keystone is the only resort with snowmaking over 100% of its acres - the only
guaranteed snow you will have this year. Only 36 spaces left. Few will remain after the
August 20th meeting. Call Now! or practice saying "I should have called sooner!"

A little about this trip: You want a REAL vacation? Come join the 42 Amigos at Snowmass
Traditional '97 Short Trip for 4 1/2 days of skiing and partying in one of the world's
premier party locations - Snowmass/Aspen.
We will be staying at the Stonebridge Inn, just 50 feet from the slopes with ski
storage lockers on premises. Other amenities include heated outdoor pool, hot tub &
sauna, and on site laundry facilities. Each room features refrigerators and coffee makers
in every room.
You want more? How does NO COOKING, FREE Continental Breakfast each morning, full maid
service and room service from on premises restaurant and bar sound? Stonebridge even has
live apres-ski entertainment. With what else can you ask for but not to have to catch a

This Texas Ski Week - Traditional trip is similar to the longer version, except it's a
little shorter and less expensive. Be one of the "select" Amigos on this trip
and enjoy Snowmass -- the "ski-in/ski-out" resort of the world, and Aspen -- the
"apres" ski resort of the world. You can ski on some of the best cruisin' runs
in the world. At night, party in the beautiful town of Aspen. The Snowmass/Aspen area
offers over 100 restaurants 300 shops and plenty of bars and entertainment to keep you
busy.
As always, there will be the TSC races, parties, and comraderie that go along with
Texas Ski Week.. There will be welcome parties, apre-ski parties, TSC parties, Award
parties, mountain tours and NASTAR races and any other party you can find. Lift tickets
are honored on four mountains -Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Tiehack/Buttermilk.
These mountains offer terrain for every conceivable type of skier. Beginners and
Never-Evers enjoy learning in a "World Class" environment with the best
instructors anywhere.

of the season, a trip not to be missed! The price includes two meals a day AND lift
tickets! A completely unique European ski experience, Val Di Fassa, lies in the heart of

minutes from town, and a short drive from some of the greatest skiing you'll find anywhere

Trip Leader: Jane Fair, 523-8538 A little about this trip: The elegant Strater Hotel in
historic Durango will be headquarters for the week. With the magnificent San Juan
Mountains as a backdrop, Purgatory is truly one of the best-kept secrets in Colorado. Ski
touring, snowmobiling, shopping, partying, even a true movie star (the famous Durango
& Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad), all tucked away in the most scenic part of the
Rockies.
Best of all, you can exchange one of your daily lift tickets for many of these
activities. Boogie, Paradise, Nirvana, the trail names tell you what's in store.

Trip Leader: Ken payne, 694-0643 A little about this trip: Long, rambling cruisers,
beginner runs to die for (not ON), and the only World Cup Downhill course in New England -
you'll find it all at Sugarloaf, Maine, along with the finest Down East hospitality to be
found anywhere. A top-ranked ski school, uncrowded slopes.
Those who made the trip there a couple years ago are still talking about it. Ski
touring, sightseeing, Baked Stuffed Lobster, factory outlet shopping, elegant lodging;
what more could you ask for? Sugarloaf is about as far north as you can go without having
to take French lessons, and the snow conditions are great! Don't miss this one - a
completely unique ski experience!
