January '97:

- 3/4 - Happy Hour at Tomatillos at 3210 Broadway,
join us for Margaritas and Mexican munchies.
- 3/8 - Final Showdown Trip leaves for Sugarloaf, Maine.
- 3/15 - Final Showdown trip returns exhausted from those "yankee hills"
- 3/15 - Spring Break trip "springs" for Lake Tahoe, South Shore.

St. Patrick's Day
Margarita Pour-Off. 6:00-10:00 pm. Sample the margarita's and green beer at the various
booths. Held at the Builder's Association, 8925 IH10 North between Callaghan and Wurzbach
Rd. Music by "Blue Northern" - a Live Band (as opposed to a dead one? - never
understood the redundancy there.) playing Blues, C&W, and Rock. Guest appearance and
performance by the S.A. Pipe & Drum Corp. SPECIAL NOTE: Show your Los Amigos
membership card and get in for $8.00. Everyone else gets in for a $10.00 cover.
- 3/18 - Last Monthly Club meeting of THIS season at Aggie
Park
- 3/22 - Spring Break Trip "bounces" back - boing! boing!
- 3-29 - Easter Sunday - Go to Church if you haven been.

April '97: - A VERY active Month!! See if you can keep up.
- 4/1 - Happy Hour at Poblano's, 2121 N. St. Mary's

This ain't no April Fool's Here. (Trust me!)
- 4/4-6 Friday-Sunday. Annual TSC Bid meeting at Holiday Inn Riverwalk, 217 N. St. Mary's.
All members may attend for $35 per person. Friday night reception. Saturday will have all
day presentations by ski resorts to try to convince us to come to their respective areas
next year. There will be a Saturday evening meal and party (included in the $35). Sunday
morning, delegates will vote on TSC trips for next year. We usually go out and eat after
that. Anyone interested in being a trip leader is STRONGLY URGED to attend.
- 4-11-13 Friday-Sunday, Annual Strawberry Festival in Poteet,
Texas.
- 4/15 - No meetings April-July. Next Regular meeting is August 19, 1997.
- 4/18 - Friday. Fiesta San Antonio begins. Parades, Activities and Events all over town
for 10 days. Best to read the daily paper to keep up or link to Fiesta San Antonio 1997 for a FULL
detailed breakdown of activities, dates and times.
- 4/18 - Friday. Enjoy the company of other Los Amigos at Night in 'Ole Alamo Heights. Use the shuttle buses
that load at the Albertson's in Lincoln Heights Center (Basse Rd. and Broadway) and save
yourself the parking headaches. (Got this info from Randy.)
- 4/18-19 - Friday/Saturday. St. Mary's University
Annual Oyster Bake. Board the Via Buses at the various Park-'n-Rides around town. See
the Newspaper for details.
- 4-21 - Monday. The annual Texas Cavalier's River Parade. Always held the first Monday
evening during Fiesta Week. Come watch the Texas Aggies marching band - They still haven't
figured out they need a barge for a float!
- 4/22-25 - Tuesday-Friday. Fiesta-San Antonio Style. See you at NIOSA in La Villita downtown. (That's "Night in Old San
Antonio", for all you non-Texans.) Come by and visit us and say "Hi!" at
the Fajita Booth (Pronounced "fah-hee'-tah"), located in the "Old
Plantation" Section.

- 6/20-21 - Annual Summer Melt Down. This year, once again at Port Royal Resort, between Corpus Christi and Port
Aransas, Texas.
Hey all you Bay Watch Babes and Hunks, you better have been workin' out for this one! Have
a real beachin' time swimmin', sunnin', 'n partyin'. Also available are tennis, horseback
ridin'. fishin', and boatin'.
More details forthcoming as I get them. Call Gail Summerlin for the lowdown on the
'gitdowns.

- Before our July Happy Hour, you may want to visit a few Brewery sites on the Internet
and get a little education about the Texas Breweries and the Support Texas Brewing site.
And last but not least, read about the 1997
Texas Brewers Festival, San Antonio's South Bank - October 1997. Featuring over 50
varieties of Texas craftbeer from Texas Breweries and San Antonio Brewpubs. FREE Admission
and Music All Weekend. Designated drivers get free soft drinks. Weekend Tasting Passes are
available.

- 7/1 - Happy Hour at The Laboratory Brewery, 7310
Jones-Maltsberger. Conveniently right next door to Stonewerks, where we've been before -
imagine that!!!

Missions Baseball. Leave it to Randy
Hinds to arrange group seating reservations for a Saturday Night game. For only $10.00,
you get a reserved seat ticket which INCLUDES complimentary Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and Soft
Drinks from 6:00-7:00 pm ONLY. And YES, you also get the privilege of sitting with other
crazy Los Amigos to whoop it up together. Game time is 7:05 pm. Limited reservations for
seating so call Randy quick like a bunny at 210-496-5974 for more details. First come,
first serve.
- 7/19 - Annual Canyon Lake Party at, . . . where else, Canyon
Lake - Duh!!!
More specifically, at Cranes Mill Park on the SOUTH shore of Canyon Lake.
Time: All day Saturday, come early for the best shade spots!! Camp overnight if you wish.
Take the road THROUGH Startzville and ask for directions at the guard gate at the Park
entrance. Probably a "per car" entrance fee. Dinner: ~6:30 pm. Full BBQ
provided but YOU have to bring side dishes, deserts or something, AND your own drinks. Of
course the NO STYROFOAM OR GLASS CONTAINER rules apply throughout the park.
You bring your own floats and boats. Boat ramps available, picnic tables galore. Room for
horseshoes and volleyball if WE set them up. For more details call TC Carey 210-341-0771.

Due to flooding conditions, all Canyon Lake Parks are still closed. Lake Party activities
are being moved to Ted and Vanisha's Volleyball Court. Call T.C. Carey for specific
detailed directions at 210-341-0771. If you get lost call 935-4491. Same great bunch of
crazy people, same activities!! (except the overnight camping part.)
- From San Antonio, take "US Hwy 281" 23 miles north of "Loop
1604".
- Go East (RIGHT for you Aggies) on "FM Rd 306" for 9.4 miles. (Do NOT
pass Fire Station!!)
- Go South (another RIGHT) on "Potter's Creek Park Rd" for 2.3 miles.
- Follow the signs from here. DO NOT Enter the Park (even if you could!!)
- Look for the pile of rocks. (Isn't that how you mark YOUR spot?)

August '97:
- 8/05 - Happy Hour at Willies Grill & Ice House
15801 San Pedro Ave., 490-9220.
On the South bound access road, South of Thousand Oaks and North of Bitters Road.
- 8/09 - Can't let the summer get by without our Annual Tube 'N Lube at the Old Mill Stream River Park, 120 Landa St., 210-620-7600,
next door to the Wursthall entrance in New Braunfels, Texas.
Tube launch ~10:30 am.
Tube rentals ~$5.00, (more w/ bottoms). You CAN bring your own tube!! BBQ and
drinks after (~2:00 pm). Burgers & Dogs provided, YOU bring side dishes, deserts,
munchies AND your own drinks. Of course the NO STYROFOAM OR GLASS CONTAINER rules
apply throughout the park. Canned beer and sodas okay. Please transfer any WINE into
plastic containers or wine pouches. (Our bare feet and the environment thank you.)
Plenty of room for Horseshoes and Volleyball. So, git them tubes pumped up and see who
will be this year's King and Queen of the "Tube 'N Lube." Don't forget your

- 9/16 - Regular Club meeting at Aggie Park. Trips
have been defined and arrangements well under way. Trip lists are filling up. Don't miss
your chance to be included.

October '97:
- 10/07 - ~5:00-9:00 PM. Monthly Happy Hour at Jazz - A
Louisiana Kitchen, 2632 Broadway, 78209 (just south of Mulberry), 472-2520. We've been
here before. Join us again for Gumbo and other snacks. Plenty of Friends to share in the
excitement of upcoming ski season.
- 10/21 - 7:30 PM. Regular Club meeting at Aggie Park.
This month features a our annual Ski Swap. Clothing, accessories and equipment.
Bring something to sell, take home something "new". Since it is sooooooo close
to Halloween, come dressed up. Who knows, you might just win a door prize just for
dressing up. Trips payments are probably due again. Trip lists are filling up. Don't get
left out!!

November '97:
- 11/04 - Happy Hour at Crumpets in Oakwell Court,
5920 Harry Wurzbach. Right after you get out of the voting booth - right?
- 11/08 -
Join us in New
Braunfels, Texas for Wurstfest '97. Meet us at Aggie Park to board a Charter Bus and avoid the
traffic and parking hassles. For only $15.00, you get a bus ride AND admission to
Wurstfest grounds. Refreshments will also be available on the bus! Bus departs Aggie Park
at 6:00 pm and will depart Wurstfest promptly at 11:00 pm. For more details, contact VP

- 11/18 - Regular Club Meeting at Aggie Park. The
Famous (and always unpredictable) Style Show. It is the biggest and best meeting of
the year. Join us for both the Syle Show AND to send off the folks on the First Ski Trip
of the year. Thanks to El Nino, Snowfall is in abundance already.
- 11/25-30 - Fall Roundup Trip Leaves for Breckenridge, Colo!!!!

Friday. Christmas
Party at Aggie Park, 6205 West Ave. Music provided
by CPR. Dress for the Christmas Party will be "formal." Gentleman are requested
to wear coat and tie, as formal as you can get. This year's theme is "Puttin' on the
Ritz." That means we get our Saturday nite bath a day early and put on or Saturday
night best!!!
