GENERAL INFORMATION
HAPPY HOURS: (1st Tuesday of each month
unless otherwise specified.):
Happy Hours are held at various locations in and around the San Antonio
area. They usually begin ~5:30 PM and last until you decide to
leave. Please keep posted on monthly events and activities as Ulisted below.
CLUB MEETINGS:

STILL Elvis siting around. He even has parties for him. Keep an eye
out for him.

Kimberly/Ferni, Heavenly Lake Tahoe and the Caribbean Cruse.
FEBRUARY 2004:

Bicycle Club, 8811 Fredericksburg Road. Start around 5:30 PM or we'll wait
until YOU get there. For additional information on any activity,
ask our VP-Programs, Don Wilson.
- Feb 5 - Feb 22 - San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. The 55th annual
San Antonio Stock
Show & Rodeo will open on Friday,
February 6 with a special PRCA Xtreme Bulls riding event, and will continue
through Sunday, February 22 with the rodeo finals. This will be the
second year for the rodeo to be held in the brand new SBC Center, which has more seating
capacity.

President-elect Jeff McGuire and the Nominating Committee have announced the nominees for
the 2004-2005 LASC Board Of Directors. The election will be held on Tuesday, March 16th at
the club's regular monthly meeting. Members who were not selected by the Nominating
Committee but who wish to be placed on the ballot must submit their application in writing
to President-elect Jeff McGuire at least seven days prior to the March meeting (March
9th.)

APRIL 2004: This is "FIESTA" month, so be ready to PARTY!!!
- APRIL 2, 3, 4, 2004 -
Poteet Strawberry Festival in Poteet, Texas. (see map...) The Poteet
Strawberry Festival® http://www.strawberryfestival.com/ is one of the oldest, most popular
events in the state, the Annual Poteet Strawberry Festival is recognized as the largest
agricultural festival in Texas as well as one of the most exciting, most dynamic festivals
in the Greater Southwest. The 100 acre site which is located on Hwy. 16, 20 minutes south
of San Antonio, offers free parking, clean public restrooms, handicapped accessibility,
complete RV facilities, and tent covered activities during the fun filled Festival
Weekend.

The Poteet Strawberry Festival® includes twelve areas of continuous, family entertainment
featuring concerts with nationally known Country / Western and Tejano stars, dancers,
gunslingers, clowns, puppets, regional bands, various contests, and rodeo performances.
These activities are included in the price of an admission ticket. Children under the age
of 10 are admitted free of charge.

A gathering at Rebar, 8134 Broadway to kick off fiesta week
activities.
- Apr 16th, Friday Night - Enjoy the company of other
Los Amigos at Night in 'Ole Alamo
Heights. On the grounds of the Alamo Heights Swimming pool area. Use the
shuttle buses that load at Lincoln Heights Center (Basse Rd. and Broadway) and save
yourself the parking headaches.
- Apr 16th - 17th, Fri-Sat. St. Mary's Annual Oyster Bake on the grounds of St. Mary's University.
Normally on the FIRST weekend of Fiesta week. Hours are: Friday, 5 to 11 PM
and Saturday, 11 am to 11 PM. Board the Via Buses at the various Park-'n-Rides
around town. See the Newspaper for details.
- April 19thst, Monday - San Antonio River Parade The
annual Texas Cavalier's River Parade. Always held the first Monday evening during Fiesta
Week. Come watch the Texas Aggies marching band - They still haven't figured out they need
a barge for a float!
- Apr 20-23rd, Tuesday-Friday - NIOSA Fiesta-San
Antonio Style. See you at NIOSA in La
Villita
downtown. (That's "Night in Old San Antonio", for all you non-Texans.)
- Apr 28th & 29th - Wed- Thur,
Pre-Tequila Parties. Kick-off parties to provide opportunities to obtain your advance
tickets to the Spring
Tequila Ball on May 1st.

ONLY Event!) End-of-Year Party at LEON SPRINGS DANCE HALL
for the just concluded 2003-2004 Season.
Leon Springs Dance Hall, 653-7839 (Dianne or mgr
Tim Mulder), is located off of IH 10 West at the Boerne Stage Rd exit -- in the vicinity
of the Dominion -- between 1604 and Fair Oaks.
There will be a cover charge - $5 per person. Los Amigos is reserving 4 tables of 10
people each. Other benefits for MEMBERS will be available. There will be
a dj that begins at 7:00 PM. Then a band called Kelly Spinks will play beginning at 8:30
PM. In case anyone needs to know, no one can bring their own beverages onto the premises.

This second annual singles mixer is sponsored by The Solo Society of the Petroleum
Club, in conjunction with Single Professionals Network, SPN and other
singles organizations. Cost of $22 includes heavy appetizer buffet, tax and

in New Braunfels, Tex. This
would be a great time to start planning for a group tour visit to WURSTFEST

HOURS and SCHEDULE: Wurstfest opens on weekdays at 5 PM, and Saturdays and
Sundays at 11 am. Wurstfest closes at 12 Midnight on Thursday and Fridays, 11 PM Sunday
through Wednesday, 1 am on Saturdays and at 10 PM on the last Sunday.
ADMISSIONS: Festival admission is $8.00 ($6.00 if purchased by Thursday, October 30) and
includes access to all entertainment areas including the Wursthalle. Children 12 and under

Charities, Inc. and PARTI hold their 26th annual Champagne & Schnapps
Extravaganza benefitting the U.S. Marines "Toys for Tots"
program. Held at Oak Hills Country Club from 8:00 pm - 1:00 am. Black Tie, no
jeans or hats. Admission is merely an unwrapped toy or a Donation to "Manand
Beast". Live music by Rumblefish.
- Dec 7th - HAPPY
HOUR
/Christmas Party : Water Street Oyster Bar located at Broadway and Basse
roads. Its on the First Tuesday, December 7th at 5:30pm.
Bring an unwrapped gift for the Toys for Tots as the Marines will be there to receive
them. There will be a nice complementary buffet with a cash bar. Please bring
friends and introduce them to the Los Amigos Ski Club.
Dec 21st, - No CLUB MEETING for December. There will NOT be a December meeting at the Old San Francisco Steak
House on the third Tuesday. The next meeting is the third Tuesday in January 2005 at
6:30pm.
