Outing to PORT ROYAL on
Padre Island. PORT ROYAL on
Padre Island.
Los Amigos
has made arrangements to have a fun weekend at Port Royal in Corpus Christi, Texas, the weekend of September
27-29, 2002. South Texas weather is still very hot at that time of year, but a
lot more comfortable than July!
The cost of the condos is $156.00 per night + tax for a
poolside unit. These units are 2 bedroom, 2 bath units; the master bedroom (which is huge)
has a king bed and the other bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is also a sleeper sofa in each
condo. See room layouts.
There are only a few poolside units available, so if you are interested
please contact Pat Bryson @ 491-0611. She has several units reserved but
a credit card is required (first nights lodging will be charged to card in case of
cancellation) to make the reservation and we need to let the Port Royal people know by
Tuesday so the condos can be released. After Tuesday it will be on as available"
basis.
We will meet around the pool and on the beach during the day and on Saturday night we will
have a dinner and party of some type with everyone sharing the costs. So, get some friends
together, give Pat a call and book your condo. Pat will also keep a list of people who
want to go but don't have enough for a full condo.
Update on Port Royal (by Wanda Polasik),
The Port Royal weekend is also the big Bayfest celebration in Corpus Christi. Its a great
outdoor festival on the water front downtown. Lots of live music and I'm sure a beer booth
or two.
If there are still any runners in our club there is also a 5k and 15k on Saturday morning.
You can access the site at http://www.bayfesttexas.com
- Regards...WKPCaution: Port Royal officials have accused us of having
"too much" fun on past trips there.
