May 1 - 1st Tuesday ~5:30 pm, Happy hour) - Taco Flats, on West Ave., north of Blanco Road intersection, and south of Nacoma intersection.wpe1.jpg (6455 bytes)

grapes2.gif (1800 bytes)May 6 - LASC Wine Tasting and Wild Flower Tour:

Today you will enjoy a ride through the scenic hill country followed by a vineyard tour and wine tasting. After shopping for your favorite wine you will be invited to go shopping at the many shops in Fredericksburg, TX, and even enjoy your favorite menu item at the restaurant where Jane Lapinski has made reservation for our group. Enjoy the day with your friends while enjoying the hill country vista caravaning through ranches and scenic hill country roads in the comfort of your car.

Assembly time: 0900

Your tour will start at the home of Sunny and Gene Wager, where you will have time to assemble and enjoy a hot cup of coffee with Rolls and Sweet Breads. There you will be given the instructions and maps for the route, tips on what to look-for along the route, and get to visit with new friends. Be sure to clean your windows because the scenery is spectacular. We hope it’s a convertible day.

Roll-Out time: 0945 -1015

We will roll out towards the hills. If you meet someone that you wish to car-pool with you are welcome to leave your auto at the Wager’s and pick it up later.

Each car will have a copy of the route and, if you wish, you may stop at your leisure and read the Historical Markers, take pictures, stretch or do whatever. The route will not be so difficult that, if you separate from the caravan you will get lost. The idea is to enjoy yourselves and have fun. The caravan will be stopping along the route so you’ll have plenty of time to catch-up. If you don’t catch-up you will still have time to meet us at the vineyard and join the tour.

Arrival at Grape Creek Winery: 12:00

grapecreek.jpg (62693 bytes)The Vineyard opens at 12:00 for tourist and wine tasting. Our group will receive special recognition upon arrival and will be assembled for our tour. Be sure to tell our host that you are from the Los Amigos Ski Club so they can get you with the correct group. Your host will be Ms. Simms and the Vineyard staff. If our group is large we will be split into two tour groups so that everyone can enjoy the tour a little more, and be able to hear our tour guides. The tour is leisurely and enjoyable. You will learn how the winery makes it wine and get to see first-hand the many steps it takes to make the wine, and the equipment involved.winebarrels.jpg (2356 bytes) Our Hosts are very knowledgeable and will entertain your questions about home winemaking also. This is one of the nicest vineyard/wineries in the hill country. It has received many awards for it’s wines, as well as for it’s hospitality.

Depart the Winery: After tours and wine tasting - SHOP

After the tours and wine tasting is completed your day isn’t done. Oooh, noooo!! Now you are invited to join the group to shop the shops of Fredericksburg and then enjoy dinner at the restaurant that Jane Lapinski has reserved for group members. Meals will be from the menu and are not included in the price for our tickets. Maybe you can enjoy some of the great wines that you’ve tasted at the vineyard. Of course, if you want to go home sooner, we will provide you a recommended route. THIS IS FUN
